Most people thinking about building have the same first question. Where do we even start?
Fair enough. From the outside, the building process looks like a maze of designers, consents, quotes and council forms. So here's exactly what happens when you get in touch with us, step by step.
It usually starts with a simple email. Something like: hey, this is what we want to do, and this is where our site is.
From there we set up a meeting on your site, and both of us turn up. Chris looks at the land through a builder's eyes. Where the access is, how the ground behaves, what the build will actually involve. Hannah looks at it through a designer's eyes. Where the sun tracks, where the views are, how a home could sit on this particular piece of land.
Same visit. Same conversation. Same page from day one.
Back in the office, the first concepts get underway, and Chris is part of that conversation from the start.
This is the part of our process that saves our clients the most time. On many projects, the builder isn't chosen until the plans are complete and the building consent is being lodged. That's the first time the design gets priced, and if the two don't line up, the reworking begins. Details change, drawings get amended, documents get resubmitted, and weeks slip away.
Because Chris is involved from the first sketch, there's no gap for that rework to live in. Buildability gets considered while the design is still on the drawing board, not after. What goes to council is the design that's been priced.
This is where it all pays off. The moment your consent is approved, Chris and the team can hit the ground running.
No repricing. No redesigning. No waiting for the builder to catch up on months of decisions they weren't there for. The person building your home has been in the room since your first site visit.
